Lotus Notes: How to send an opened document

You have an important document which you need some personel to verify it. Unfortunately when sending the document link to them, they have no authority to open the link. They seems to have no authorisation for that particular document, but yet you insisted to let them to have a look.
Well, in this case, you need not go through all the hassles of getting some admins to grant them access. If they only require reader access, I would suggest if you forward the document to them via your email account.

To do that, you may use the button as shown in the below screenshot. As easy as that!

How to Manually Import Outlook Contacts into Notes PAB

Exporting Outlook contacts to Excel File
File -> Import and Export
Export to a File -> Next
Microsoft Excel -> Next
Click on Map Custom Fields -> Next
Click on Map Default -> OK
Highlight Contacts folder -> Next
Select where to save the exported file
Click on Finish

Prepare your Excel file for importing
Open the Excel file you just created
Highlight the entire row with the contact headers (Name, Title, etc.)
Press the delete key
Open the Excel spreadsheet included with this document
Highlight the entire row with the contact headers.
Copy the headers
Go back to your original Excel file
Paste the new headers into the now empty top row
File -> Save As
In the “Save as type” box, choose "WK4 (1-2-3) (*.wk4)"
Create a name, and save and close the document
(click yes when you get the warning that it is not compatible)

Import the .Wk4 document into Lotus Notes
Go into your Personal Address Book in Notes
File -> Import
Browse to find the .wk4 file you just created with the following options:
- Use "Form Business Card" (or "Contact" if using R5)
- WKS Title Defined
- Calculate fields on form during import
Click OK and the files should be successfully imported.

Known Issues: If there are any birthday or anniversary fields filled out, delete these rows before importing into Notes. Notes and Outlook use different time/date formats, which will result in an error during import.
If you get an error that you cannot locate the form, be sure that you have not selected “Contacts” rather than “Contact” in R5.

Notes error: You do not have a mail file/server specified

Emails cannot be sent out when triggered from web. Error returns when trying to send email from web.

Notes error: You do not have a mail file/server specified. Use File Mobile - Edit Current set them.

Explaination: The error "...You do not have a mail file/server specified..." has been typically found to occur because the MailServer parameter in the server's Notes.ini is found to be reset to a null entry, for example: "MailServer=". This has been observed in cases where the Domino server has been running for a long period of time without being restarted.
Solution: Include this line in notes.ini and restart the server.

1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte

Kilo is the SI prefix for 1,000. Engineers have always used it as such.

Computer engineers took the shortcut that 1024 (2^10) was close to 1000, so decreed that in terms of computer memory, 1 kilobyte was 1024 bytes.

Sometimes the difference is important, especially when you are working out if you can fit your program onto a disk for example. So, be precise!

High CPU Usage - cidaemon.exe

Sometime ago, my PC slowed down and each time when i checked on the CPU usage, it recorded a very high percentage.Checking on the processes, i found out that most of it was used by cideamon.exe

  2. Then type services.msc which will open the services window.

  3. Double click the "indexing service", set it to disabled and reboot your PC following after.
  4. Once rebooted, you will noticed that the CPU Usage percentage has decreased.

System Upgrade - from boyfriend to husband

Dear IT Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slow down in the overall performance, particularly in the flower, gifts and jewellery applications that had operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 un-installed many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, but installed undesirable programs such as Formula One 5.0, NBA 3.0 and World Cup 2.0.And now Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and House Cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.What can I do?

Desperate Housewife
Dear Desperate Housewife,

First keep in mind:Boyfriend 5.0 is an entertainment package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.Try entering the command C:\ I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME and download Tears 6.2 to install Guilt 3.0.If all works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.But remember, overuse can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Late Night Teh Tarik 6.1.Late Night 6.1 is a very bad program that will create SnoringLoudly.wav files.Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-Law 1.0 or reinstall another Boyfriend program. These are not supported applications and will crashHusband 1.0.In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have a limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.You might consider additional software to improve memory and performance. I personally recommend Hot Tasty Food 3.0 and Tongkat Ali 6.9.

Good Luck,
IT Support
